Tantra Retreat: The Meeting Between Devotion and Knowledge

February 7 – 12, 2025

6-Day Advanced Tantra Retreat – The Meeting Point Between Devotion and Knowledge

February 7 – 12, 2025

Join us for a transformative 6-day journey into the heart of Tantra, where love, devotion, and knowledge unite. This retreat blends the intensity of devotion (Shakti) with the peaceful consciousness of detachment (Shiva), drawing from key tantric texts and yogic teachings. Through meditations, lectures and hatha yoga practices, we’ll deepen our understanding of Tantra as both a path of love and knowledge.

Tantra is often described as the path of love, and throughout the retreat, we will engage in practices that help deepen your devotion to a spiritual ideal, our relationships with loved ones, friends, family, a deity and community. Through a variety of exercises, meditations, and lectures, you’ll explore how growth in love leads to spiritual growth and fulfilment.

On the other hand, Tantra is also a path of knowledge, guiding us toward higher consciousness, inner detachment, and lasting peace. We will draw inspiration from traditions like Ramana Maharishi’s method of self-inquiry (“Who am I?”), helping us connect with the liberating wisdom of Tantra by observing inner silence and practicing non-attachment.

Many practitioners find themselves inclined towards one aspect of Tantra – either the path of Jnana (knowledge) or that of Bhakti (devotion) – without integrating the other. Some become highly centered and detached but lack emotional richness, while others dive deeply into devotion and intensity but may feel ungrounded or scattered.

In this retreat, we seek to synthesise these two wings: the vibrant energy of love and devotion (Shakti) with the peaceful, centered consciousness (Shiva). Our teachings are drawn from key tantric scriptures such as the Vijnana Bhairava Tantra, Tantraloka, and Shiva Sutras, which emphasise knowledge, as well as texts like the Bhakti Sutras and Sundarya Lahari, which awaken the heart’s devotion.

Who is this retreat for?

This retreat is open only to those who have participated in one of our events — whether retreats, workshops, or courses, either in person or online. This approach allows us to deepen both the theoretical teachings and practical experience. The retreat will explore advanced aspects of Tantra, including traditional texts and ceremonial activities.

If you’ve never attended a Mahasiddha course or event before, but you are eager to join, you can still do so on a certain condition: upon registering for the retreat, you’ll receive access to three online classes. Watch the recordings, submit a short summary, and you’ll be eligible to join the retreat.
