Svadhisthana (Sacral) Chakra Meditation - Mahasiddha Yoga

Svadhisthana Chakra is the second center of force and lies 3-4 cm above the genital area. This center of force is responsible for the sexual energy and creativity.

When Svadhisthana Chakra is balanced, one can experience wellness, pleasure, abundance, and joy. An imbalance in this chakra may lead to emotional instability, sexual dysfunction, depression, fear of change, or addictions.

Unlike the first center of force, Muladhara Chakra, where there was primordial struggle for survival of the individual and the group, here the focus is on the perpetuation of the species. At this level, there is creative sexual desire. This includes a way of expressing sexuality, showing ease of relating to beings around us.

The challenge of the second chakra is to learn to interact consciously with others, this interaction being a great support to us in our spiritual development. At the second chakra, all our relationships can be understood as essentially spiritual messengers. Through these interactions we discover, as in a mirror, our own strengths and weaknesses and have the chance to amplify in us what is in harmony and correct what is not working.

Suffering and discontent that we face do not appear due to external, social circumstances, but because of our own thoughts and attitudes. At this level we must learn to discover the true, inner, deep motivations that lead us to act in one way or another. Here our journey towards completion involves the superior integration of our relations. We must make choices that would follow transcending dualism. As long as we focus on controlling others, we continue to maintain conflicts with ourselves. Seeing us and others in a profound union will help us to form a different idea about life.

Svadhisthana Meditation Technique:

Although there are many asanas that facilitate the activation of Svadhisthana Chakra, the most suitable is Sukhasana.

Sukhasana Pose

Sukhasana Pose

Sit in Sukhasana with eyes closed and spine straight, as described in the previous meditation exercise. Focus your attention on Svadhisthana Chakra and make sure you sit as still as possible throughout the posture.

You can activate Svadisthana Chakra through Sukhasana using appropriate music, such as this.

Focus your attention on Svadhisthana Chakra for 30 minutes and perceive the activation of this chakra along with a state of harmony and euphoria.
